Home Up

NOTE: "HOME" takes you to our initial home page; "UP" will return you to the Africa site for more exploring.

South Africa marked the beginning and end of our trip.  Our first day there was included to recover from the 18 hours on the plane from Atlanta to Capetown and subsequently Johannesburg.  (We flew from Albuquerque to Atlanta (via D/FW) the day before our adventure began.)

                       Cape of Good Hope

The end of the trip we returned to the "real world" by spending a few days in the waterfront area of Capetown.  We did travel to the Cape of Good Hope (southern most point in Africa) where we saw the guys above along with great views of the coastline (check out the SCENIC VIEWS).  We also toured the wine country.  It's good we don't live there -- great wine at approximately US$4-8 per bottle!!  Finally, we visited Robben Island, the island prison in which Nelson Mandella was held for some 18 years.
