We arrived in Montana's Glacier National Park upon leaving Canada.  It too is a magnificent setting as parks and their beauty don't fall strictly within country boundaries.  That is, both Waterton and Glacier provide incredible scenery and glimpses of wildlife.  We enjoyed hiking in Glacier near the Many Glacier Lodge which we stayed at while visiting the park.  When it came time to leave, we drove the legendary "Going to the Sun" scenic drive, an amazing road constructed during the late 1920s – early 1930s, and we can attest it is one of the most beautiful places in the world!

After spending some time in Salt Lake City (viewing the Temple Square where the Morman Tabernacle & Church is located), we then went to two national parks in Utah – Canyonlands and Arches.

Canyonlands National Park provides some amazing vistas of landscape that looks like it must be found on a planet in outer space.  It's so harsh and yet beautiful at the same time.  We were there when the weather was temperate – only some 80-90 degrees instead of the summer highs of 120 degrees plus!  It's amazing that such an environment can provide for not only great views but abundant plant life and animal life too.

Arches National Park held some amazing rock formations.  Seeing large expanses of rock formed into delicate arches is truly amazing.  We hiked among the various arches to take photographs and just take in the immense size of some of the sights.  A great spot to enjoy nature and stare in disbelief!
