After time in Melbourne, we flew to the island state of Tasmania – yes, the home of that crazy Tasmanian Devil.  In Hobart, we really enjoyed the monthly open air market held in the Salamanca Square.  There were truly talented craftsmen & artisans showing their wares so we did some Christmas shopping.  Really neat stuff!    Hobart also has a stunning wharf that is great for photo’s.

From Hobart we drove to Launceston via the Heritage Highway Drive.  En route we stopped at the beautiful Cataract Gorge.  Truly scenic!  The following day we went to the rain forest at Hellyer Gorge Scenic Reserve.  It was beautiful too!  We spent this night in Strahn.  Then, our last day of touring in Tasmania was spent driving through a World Heritage Park as we returned to Hobart.  All in all, a very scenic and beautiful island State.
